All these pictures were taken within approximately 2.5miles of the Hotel.

Porlock Village. This picturesque village prides itself on it's welcoming attitude towards tourism, however it maintains a true village atmosphere and has a wide variety of 'proper' shops, such as the wonderful ironmongers & village bakery alongside the galleries & antique shops.

Exmoor. A magnificent, rolling moor of infinite diversity and constantly changing moods. 
Porlock Marsh. The recent breach of the natural shingle ridge by the sea during a wild November storm, has created a fresh/salt water marsh, which is attracting a fascinating variety of new, rare bird life to complement that which is already abundant.
Exmoor boasts the largest herd of wild Red Deer in the country.
Exmoor Ponies run wild on the moors these are one of the oldest & purest breeds of pony in the world.
Porlock Weir is a small hamlet & harbour where the little fishing boats can claim safe haven.
Allerford National Trust Village with it's ancient packhorse bridge.
Bossington is one of a number of National Trust villages in the area.
Culbone Church the smallest complete parish church in the country, still has regular services.
No matter what time of year, walking, around this area is quite magical, whether you are looking for a gentle stroll or a 20-mile hike.
Remnants of the ancient oak forest that used to cover the whole of Exmoor, hundreds of years ago.
